New problems with the way a post is formatted and displayed

nsxtasy | Jun 2, 2011 02:56 PM

I just created this post - http://chowhound.chow.com/topics/7875... - and ran into a whole bunch of new formatting problems that I've never seen before.

I should mention, I edited the post several times after entering it, but each time, I copied and saved what I had written, so I wasn't using those awful extra tabs and lines that the software has been creating when you edit a post without copying it from the previous time.

1. Paragraphs ending with a colon (":"). Two of my paragraphs ended with a colon. Instead of displaying a colon, the finished post displayed the two characters "%3". I found that, by adding a space after the colon, I could prevent this from happening and instead have my post displayed with the colon.

2. Dropping the first letter of a paragraph. I have a paragraph that begins with the words, "As you can see, ...". When that's how the paragraph started out, it would not display the capital A at the start of the phrase, and would only display it as "s you can see, ...". I found that, by adding a space before the word "As", I could prevent this from happening and instead have the word As displayed properly.

3. Double-spacing of lists. I have two lists of links at the bottom of the post, and I entered them with single spacing. However, the post displays them double-spaced. I could not find a workaround for this.
