I have read the Princeton/NB posts back to mid-2003, but I still have a request. I need a restaurant for an informal birthday dinner with good food. It doesn't have to be amazing food, good food will be just fine. Something nicer than a pub, but not all hushed voices and white gloves. I need a restaurant that serves meat, preferably more than one choice. The entrees need to not cost $30 and up. Restaurants like Stage Left and Frog and the Peach are not going to do; my family doesn't like super-super fancy food. Just good food. No ethnic restaurants like Makeda (unfortunately - I love it there), no Indian, no Japanese, no Thai, no Chinese. Essentially these particular family members like pasta and meat, or pasta with meat. Steak, pork, veal, whatever. Italian is good. Steakhouses are good. Restaurants that serve one or the other alongside other choices are good. A liquor license would be good but not a dealbreaker.
We have a car, so we can drive around the surrounding area (not too far, but we are willing to range afield).
Please help. My mother is about to drive me insane. "Nothing weird," she says. "Your stepfather won't eat it."
