My wife wants to do Italian and I'm trying to decide between the "big three"... I always enjoy the ambiance at Primo & Secondo and their wine list is second-to-none. The problem is that we have such great regional Italian in San Francisco from authentic Sardinian cuisine to proletarian red sauce joints in North Beach that surely rival Da Emma's simple Roman style cooking. I'd like to know which is most consistent and which kitchen is most proficient and refined in their cooking. Style of cuisine aside, is there a clear winner amongst the three for hands-down the best Italian restaurant in Montreal?
