I ate a ton of instant noodles when I was younger but haven't touched the stuff in the past 20 years or so. But I was intrigued by Charles's post on this Singaporean instant laksa.
I found it at Flushing's Hong Kong market. A bit expensive at $3 a package. But it's probably the best pack of instant noodles I've ever had. The noodles remained al dente (if you cook it for the recommended time of 7 minutes). The soup is complex for an instant mix, redolent of funky shrimp paste. I added some shrimp, squid, scallops, a tea egg (had some lying around), snow pea pods and bean sprouts.
I'm not an instant noodle person so I won't be a regular consumer of this product. But I have to admit I'll probably pick up a few packs for those lazy days.
