Prezza

Four of us had one of the best meals yet at Prezza last night. I know it's been discussed a lot lately so I won't be redundant, but it was one of those nights where everyone's dishes brought a myriad of oohs and ahhs around the table. Briefly, we started off with the Spicy Mussels with chorizo in a tomato-fennel sauce, served over a mound of that creamy polenta, Baked Oysters stuffed with mascarpone (these were fantastic!), and the Wood grilled Squid and Octopus w/braised white beans (just as smoky and tender as mentioned in an earlier post). I had the Cornmeal Lobster Tart, piled high with fresh creamed corn, thyme, and chunks of sweet lobster. Everyone likewise loved their choices for dinner, the Lobster Fra Diavlo with saffron Tagliatelle, Wood grilled Lamb Leg w/olive tapenade, the Wood grilled double thick Pork Loin and Tuscan bean salad, and I had the Pea Ravioli with Virginia ham and fresh peas.

As one may discern from the above, we didn't finish our desserts, but they included one of the best bread puddings I've had in a long time - white chocolate and raspberry with white chocolate ice cream. The sorbet trio (blueberry, mango, and lemon), a wonderful cherry cobbler, and the peach turnovers in puff pastry were all delicious as well.

Now I can't eat for a week.
