Prairie Rock Brewing - food good?

Giovanna | Dec 6, 2003 12:51 PM

A friend with whom I have knocked back many a pint is doing me a favor, and I have offered dinner in repayment. We are likely dining tomorrow after said favor, and our route will be from Aurora to Lakeview, with a possible detour to downtown or Schaumburg or elsewhere for dinner. His request is for "large piece of dead cow". My first thought was my favorite steak place, Gene & Georgetti, but they're not open tomorrow. Gibson's in Rosemont is a strong contender, as is Smith & Wollensky if I'm willing to actually go downtown and try to park. I'm thinking Prairie Rock Brewing in Schaumburg might make him happy, since we both like to drink beer, but I'm always inherently suspicious of food in Schamburg [yes, I know that prejudice is an ugly thing].

Also considering Sal & Carvao Churrascaria in Schaumburg as well. As an extra twist, we're doing a video job, which means we will probably be dressed in jeans, not necessarily guaranteeing us a good reception someplace nice. I seek the collective wisdom of the Hounds.

Thanks!

Giovanna
