Carniceria El Brinquito, one of our local Mexican Market/Butchers has added a taqueria in the back, and bench seating outside.
Their Sunday special is Pozole with Taquitos Dorados. Last week, instead of sweltering in the kitchen we picked up a few orders to feed the family.
The Pozole was excellent, heavy on the pork, and made w/dried purple hominy, which has a wonderful, chewy texture. $6 buys you a quart of Pozole, a container of shredded cabbage, diced onion,and a couple of limes wedges, as well as three taquitos dorados (potato tacos fried golden and crisp) for dunking in the pozole.
Three orders fed our family of 5, with leftovers for lunch the next day.
