Portland visitor from SF seeks food: absurd requirements

Hey Portlanders!

I'm travelling to portland this weekend to visit my vegetarian sister and her adopted 7 year old filipino daughter! And, you guessed it, I'm in search of some great restaurant recommendations.

Let me be clear: I don't require the greatest filipino vegetarian restaurant with a playground in the world, but you get my drift...ideal would be a restaurant that's vegetarian friendly & kid friendly. asian cuisine is a big plus because of their flexibility (substituting tofu for meat). Indian restaurants (with a giant ganesh entertaining the kids!) would be awesome.

We're staying with a friend on the 2200 block of SE 53rd st. I'm not familiar with any part of Portland except for the downtown area--I've been to portland once before, without the ridiculous requirements, and I ate at a french restaurant downtown on front ave and a nuevo latino place in north park. Any recommendations in the SE part of Portland would be appreciated.

Any ideas?
