Portland trip report

Thanks to all who posted responses to my request for breakfast locations! I had a very short time in Portland, just enough to determine that my wife and I are ready to move up there.

"Dinner" at Southpark. Wandered in a daze at 10pm from the Hilton, Heathmen felt too formal, but there was just something about a salmon crashing through a brick wall I really couldn't pass up. Wasn't too hungry, having dined on California Pizza Kitchen at LAX. Got the roasted squash and couscous soup. Very pleasant, not terribly flavorful; Moroccan comfort food. Very cozy yet elegant space; I got a creeping sense that under all their informality and chattiness was a very corporate restaurant, but I didn't really mind.

Breakfast at Heathman. Wow. Wow = expensive. And, Wow = their salmon hash with poached eggs lived up to my wildest dreams. Bursting with salmon flavor, not too salty or smoky. Truly magnificent. Accompanied by a plate of fresh berries. I'm checking out real estate websites...
