Hey hounds--anyone been to Poggio recently? I wanted to go while Travis Flood was cooking there, but he's moved on. The new menu looks like it has a lot of tempting northern Italian classics, and it's always a plus for me when a restaurant uses a wood grill, which Poggio does for grilled peppers, squid, and a bistecca fiorentina, a porterhouse for two. I also see a ribollita, something people seem to be looking for in the bay area off and on.
For truffle hounds, they have white truffles right now, and a black truffle goose dish that sounds amazing.
If not Poggio, any recent experiences at Le Garage?
