I'm graduating from college next sunday, taking the extended family to Taiwan Cafe for dinner on Saturday.....i've been there twice recently and talked to the owner/manager about planning a menu. They have banquet options but I am not gonna do that, I am just going to plan my own menu. I am looking for suggestions for good things to try/add to the menu to make it balanced and wonderful.
There will be 9 people with very few dietary restrictions, many very adventurous.
Things I def. want to get:
eggplant with basil
seaweed with garlic sauce
pork with mustard greens and homemade tofu
some type of mild shrimp dish
So that leaves a lot more space for more dishes. I've tried a lot at TC, but there is still tons I haven't tried. I was there tonight and had the softshell crab...is it supposed to be spicy? cause it wasn't at all. It was very good though and I might try that again, unless I opt for another seafood dish (lobsters? other crab dish?)
Here are some specific questions:
Which of the whole fish is the best?
Are there any good scallop dishes that anyone has tried?
Are there any special items that you have had at TC that aren't on the menu and that could be prepared for a special occasion such as this?
