looking for a place to host an awards banquet

Centrally located to most of greater L.A.

We normally have it a certain classy downtown hotel, but their rates have jumped a bit this year so we're wondering if there's anything comperable. We're currently being quoted in the $50 range, per person, with cash bar. I think this includes them providing podium, mike, etc. We normally draw 150-200 people.

That might not sound like a lot of $$$, but we have to cover comps for award winners, guest speakers, etc. and this is for a non-profit organization. As costs rise, it excludes more and more people. Especially when you add bevs, parking, etc. These aren't academy awards, just peer recognition type of things.

We'll probably stick with them, but thought I'd check to see if anyone might know of an upstart place trying to raise their banquet profile (such as a refurbished hotel). Thanks.
