My usual pie place is Papa's, especially since they moved to Robbinsville-much nearer my Hamilton residence than the original place in Trenton. Go there at least once a week; thinking of trying something new.
So, 2 places I've never tried:
1. Joeys' (formerly Maruca's) on Whitehorse-Mercerville Road. Comments, opinions?
2. Jeppy's (also on Whitehorse-Mercerville Road) across from Pete's Steakhouse Tavern) in what was once a short-lived "soul" food joint-chicken, ribs, etc. Jeppy's has been there for 3 years now-anyone have any info?
As noted, I generally do Papa's-I also like Villa Maria, on Quakerbridge Road, and JoJo's. Never been crazy about either DeLo's-but I'm happy to eat it. I won't eat PaPa John's, Domino's, Pizza Hut, or any other pie cooked on a conveyor belt instead of an oven. Used to live in Chicago, where I could see the lights from the original (pre-franchise) Uno's and Due's from my apartment. I loved them both-but don't believe the franchised versions have much merit.
Met my wife at Giordano's on Rush Street, over a Chicago stuffed pizza. I liked Gino's and Eduardo's stuffed pizza(in Chicago) too.
The point is that, basically, I like just about every variety of pizza/tomato pie, and am willing to try new places.
Any shared knowledge about Joey's and/or Jeppy's will be greatly appreciated.
