Pinole Creek Cafe -- Mother's Day Brunch REPORT

My husband and I met my mother and sister at the Pinole Creek Cafe on San Pablo Avenue in Pinole for Sunday Mother's Day Brunch. The place is very small as was the buffet menu: fresh fruit, salmon, eggs, sausage, bacon, home fries, frittata, potstickers (?!). There was also a selection of mini-muffins as well as bite sized desserts of lemon bars, pecan bars and baklava.

All in all, the brunch was nothing special and a horrible disappointment. I'm used to champagne brunches that have a wide assortment of foods to choose from. That wasn't the case at Pinole Creek Cafe. The food was well cooked; there just wasn't a lot of it. For the hefty price -- more than $80 for the four of us -- I would have expected so much more.
