picky vegetarian visiting San Francisco

I'm going to be visiting my sister and her fiance in their San Francisco home this coming Thursday-Tuesday. While we already have some food adventures planned, to places not common for someone such as myself who is from Philadelphia (Ghiradelli Square, In and Out Burger, Chinatown, Max's Opera Cafe) my sister wondered if there were any other places I'd like to go. Since I don't know too much about the food in San Francisco, I'd figured I'd post here.
I am a rather picky vegetarian, who doesn't care for spicy foods or foods with too much flair...also not too big of a fan of vegetarian "staples" such as eggplant, squash, zucchini, or asparagus. However, I'm a big fan of comfort foods (mac and cheese, pasta of virtually any sort, etc), and was wondering if anyone knew of a restaurants in the area who had a nice selection of vegetarian entrees for the not-so-exotic vegetarian? If anyone has any suggestions for bakeries of dessert cafes, those would also be appreciated. My sister lives on De Haro street in the 94107 zip code. While she does have a car, any place that would be near enough to walk or take public transportation to would be preferred. Thanks for your help. I'm looking forward to enjoying the flavors of your city.
