U-pick tomatoes

chilihead2006 | Jul 29, 2006 01:39 AM

We're looking for organic or pesticide-free farms in the Bay Area where we can pick our own tomatoes, preferrably roma or other good sauce variety...roma is our favorite. We're heading to Brentwood tomorrow to scout around, and have visited the www.pickyourown.org website for possible leads. Anyhoo...it's not clear who's got good tomatoes ready to pick. We're in San Rafael, so prefer places north or east....but I'll drive 100 miles for top quality ripe produce. ;

)

We might also be interested in a good wholesaler of same.

We're looking for approx 100 lbs.....we pulp, cook-down and freeze 'em.

Any ideas?

Many thanks!

Tom
