I dont know. Anyways, drove down to annandale to try Pho Hot yesterday. I normally do Pho dat Thanh in Columbia. I liked it... maybe not an hours drive worth. A few comparisons.
1. Pho dat Thanh has a more aromatic, beef type broth with a little more "edge". I liked Pho Hot's broth alot...just not as much.
2.Pho Hot has got far more meat and the cuts (tendon, intestine) are obviously present. I really like this aspect of Pho Hot.
3.Pho Hot has way better spring rolls, and (this is just a guess) better food in general besides the broth. I say this from the looks of food on other tables and the attention to detail in the food we ordered. The accompaniments to the Pho (basil, sprouts, lime, etc.) were really crisp and not the least bit bruised or discolored.
Overall, its hard to say. I really love the broth at Pho dat Thanh and its much closer to Baltimore... I give the edge to Pho dat Thanh. But If I lived in the middle.....? I plan on checkin out Pho 75.
