Philly's Smoke House - Finally a good review

As the first one to post on the board regarding Philly's Smoke House on 51st Ave. between 5th Street and Vernon Ave., I can finally report that the place is much improved. I initially thought it was one of the worst restaurants ever.

Over the last several weeks however, I have had their food three times and thought the food was good all three times. The ribs, both pork and beef, were consistantly smoked, moist and tasty. The service was professional and helpful. As one who is not the biggest fan of Pearson's, in my opinion, Philly's is now much better.

Since the brisket was so vile at the start, I have not had the guts to try them again, but will try them again in the next several months.

The only side I have had was their salad and it is very good and the house dressing is excellent.

I would urge other early diners to try it again and report back.
