It will be my 1st trip there, and I'll be there for 3 weeks, so I'll have lots of time to get to know the cuisine. However, any advice and input is appreciated!
I'll mainly be around/in Manila... but hoping to get to some beaches, esp. for scuba...
Limited preliminary research shows a dearth of: fresh coffee and good chocolate. Available: Bananna ketchup, made by Heinz- supposed to be same taste/color/texture as our tomato stuff, and fantastic fresh fruits.
I have tasted some foods (homemade-stateside) before: siniagiang, pansit, ensemadas, polvorone, halo-halo, lechon, lecheflan... that's all I can think of for now.
Also hope to find reputable places and prices to get South Sea Pearls. -I'd really love some advice on this as well!
