Pepperoncini has been open about a month but I just found out about it last week. I had read in the Times Herald that they make a good Roast Pork.
OK, I still think DiNics is my favorite, but the sandwich was a definite winner. (And I could smell the garlic down the block which is a good sign in my book).
A. the meat was sliced not shredded (not as juicy as DiNics but still good.
B. They put a generous portion of very Garlicky Broccoli Rabe on the sandwich.
C. The bread was amazing (rolls from the Conshohocken Bakery).
D. They did have sharp provolone but I wish there had been more of it (and it was sort of melted over the top as opposed to on the bottom underneath the meat.
The whole thing was toasted like a grinder.
VERY GOOD overall.
I also saw others ordering pizzas which I will definitely try as the crust looks to be of the crackery-thin variety. They also serve pasta and other entries. Appetizers include bruschetta and other such items.
I think they deliver on weekday afternoons, but you can get takeout.
It's located around Elm and Poplar not too far from Fayette Street (toward the factory district).
