I just got back from having a family dinner at Peach Farm. It was the first time that any of us had been there. I had read many of the posted reviews by chowhounds. I was particularly taken with the description of the boneless stuffed chicken eaten on Lunar New Year by many chowhounds (see "Lunar New Year at Peach Farm" posts on 2/2/05). We ordered this chicken 24 hours in advance and were really disappointed. We were expecting there to be chicken meat not just chicken skin and sticky rice stuffing. I gathered from the waiters that this is always the way it is served. When I was a kid, my aunt would make a boneless chicken stuffed with sticky rice, but she left the meat in it and it was thoroughly delicious. I thought I should at least mention it so that other chowhounds who read the 2/2/05 posts, don't get the same impression. I would have much preferred the golden fried chicken.
Everything else in the meal was wonderful...spicy dry fried squid, mustard greens with oyster sauce, pea shoots, and a steamed whole fish with ginger and scallions. I will definitely go back...my 85 year-old Chinese mother wants to go back and try the lobster.
