A few of us from PortlandFood.org met for dinner tonight at the Tuscan pig roast and had a great feast. Hopefully they'll chime in.

Several of the 11 items (for only $35) were very good, but the one that kicked my ass was the beans. If anyone is familiar with this fava bean dish of his, please tell me what's in it. The orange sauce was almost fruity with some wonderful subtle spices. Apple? Caramelized onions? Roasted tomatoes or red bell peppers? Saffron? Cinnamon? Whatever it is, it was excellent.
Even if you've eaten at Basta's and thought it was just decent or pretty good, get on their email list so you can find out when their next special dinner is.
