Imbibe was OK.
They have a small happy hour list which goes to 7pm which is kinda nice. Pretty standard stuff though- burger, Caesar, hot wings (and that was about it, I'm only forgetting a few HH items so not a huge selection)... All $3.95. I only remember the well drinks being on HH too, but not their special martini's.
I didn't eat much.... I had the Proscuitto wrapped scallops. Medium size, 4 for $8. They were Ok, could be a little better but I've had a lot worse. The scallops were 2 to a skewer wrapped in proscuitto over a bed of wild greens with a light dressing. A little fish tasty but fortunately not over cooked. I enjoyed the dressing, had a nice bit of zing.
My partner had the burger and Caesar. The burger was nice, had an excellent caramelized onion puree, and the salad seemed standard. (The waitress said their mussels were good. I'll try those next time.)
They had live music for a while and I liked that fact that we were there at 6:30 to 7:30 and the lights were up to a nice level, not all dark and moody. Sometimes I'm into that but it is such the norm now... And I liked the fact that they had an Atari hooked up to a TV people could play.
Close (to where I live)
Standard HH menu (boring - would like to see their more interesting items like the mussels on the HH menu)
Pretty standard Portland HH all around, discounted food but expensive drinks
The service was nice- answered all my questions and even came after me after I left without my scarf. (Kudos to the waitress- very nice.)
I think I was expecting more a 'bar' feel and was pleasantly surprised when it presented more (though I am sure it is much more 'bar like' on a Fri. or Sat night.) People were sitting at tables having nice conversations - very mellow.
I'll go and try real dinner there next.
