Tacos Rico is a roach coach that appears at the corner of Hall and Allen in the Allen Market parking lot in Beaverton after 4:20 pm. While I have been disappointed by Portland Mexican carts, this one is the real deal like some of the grub I use to get in San Diego. Though the Al Pastor is not the muddy dry consistency I was looking for, all other items are dead-on authentic. At $3.50 for a giant burrito that is the biggest I have found and $1 for all bottled Mexican sodas, this is the best value for a 240 lb man with under $5. The ambience is also great, as you eat standing among migrant workers squeezing lime over their lengua and cabeza.

Winchell's Donuts Gladstone on Mclaughlin is the best donuts in the area. I will often cruise over at 2:30 am when the maple bars are just made. Always get the bars not the regular donuts because they are twice the size for the same price.

Hunan Pearl in Lake Oswego off Bangy/Kruse Way has the most Taiwan authentic Kung Pao Chicken and lo mein. It is exactly the way they do it in Taipei. DO NOT GO ON A SUNDAY as the chef is not there and the food is the WORST Chinese you can get. I seriously have not encountered a place where the quality varies by such a colossal margin. I can only vouch for Fri. and Sat. dinner times.
