I have a pastry-related question and I hope the board can help.
My wife is currently studying to be a pastry chef, and one of her homework assignments is to go to a cafe, order pastry and then write a report on the experience. We're taking friends, so she can sample a lot of different things.
I guess that in her report, she would have to cover all the stuff that the Chowhounds cover when they write their own AARs.
Soooo... I was wondering if You All knew of any cafes or places in Brooklyn or Queens where they make their own pastry.
I'm looking for a place that is particularly good or interesting for whatever reason, and I should mention that she is not restricted to French style cafes where they make brioche and croissants and so on. All pastry welcome.
