well, the 7 moms from the berkshires made it out to your fabulous city last weekend and we went to pastis saturday night for dinner.
we had a 8:30 reservation and showed up right on time. we had to wait just a few minutes.
the place was really crowded and im sure you all know- very NOISY.
we were seated at a tiny round table, which was fine because we could hear each other talk. our waiter was very good, very easy-going and nice. i was a little nervous because of the negative comments on here but he was cool. we had a million questions for him ( what certain french words & menu items were ) and he graciously answered them all.
my sister and i split the caeser w/ bacon and the calamari for apps. really liked them both. for dinner i had steak frites w/ bernaise. LOVED it. this is one of my favorite dishes and this one was awesome. dessert was creme brulee and that was tasty too. i am drawing a blank at what everyone else ordered, sorry! we had beer, wine, cocktails, a little bit of everything.
the price wasnt bad at all i thought, it was $432 all together ( with 20% added ) for 7 of us.
great food, great service. of course it was too loud, but we knew that coming in. i never got the " what do you think YOUR doing here?" attitude which was nice. i was a little worried.
great night in nyc. thanks!
