Arrived as a solo traveler on side adventure from London business trip . Was very much looking forward to dinner at Le Pergolese in 16th that I had arranged and had confirmed thru online Top Table (uk) ..My taxi was late arriving for pick up and I asked concierge to call Le Pergolese to advise that I would be 10 minutes late..well they had no reservation and advised that this online service is " not ready for prime time in Paris" This is deserving of a major rant ( likely on another board ) but was a major disappointment as they were fully committed. Thanks to a great concierge who made multiple phone calls ( at 830pm mid week there aren't many openings) I secured a seat at the bar at Le Chiberta ( a Guy Savoy one star) also in 16th. Amuse of creme of courgette with cucumber foam ( yes foam again but it was excellent) Excellent crusty bread and butter laced with anchovie ( not my thing but clever) starter of asparagus ( beautifully in season in France ) served with shaved parmesean and truffle Oh My it was grand!! Plat of filet of beef ( done to exact specification of med rare ) served with perfect carrots and potatoes very very similar to potatoes Robuchon..all in a red wine reduction sauce Ordered the cheese plate which was delicious and unusual in that it had 2 chevre which were delicate , the whipped white cheese that I am familiar with from a trip to Lyon and finally a pungent roquefort and served with a slice of homemade ginger bread. Being very full and satisfied I declined dessert but staff was having none of that and sent me a half slice of chocolate fondant ..who could refuse? 2 glasses of sancerre , a half bottle of Nuit St Georges and 155 euro later I left a very happy customer . Next nite had 830 pm reservation at Le Pamphlet.( made by hotel concierge ) Amuse of Gazpacho very bright and fresh. Starter of seared foie gras served with grilled fruits ( pear and a citrus) perfectly done . Plat of filet of beef again ( doubled cholesterol meds that nite ) served with mushrooms , roasted potatoes and pearl onions . Very nicely done . Dessert of grilled pineapple with caramel sauce and caramel salted ice cream was a blissful ending . 2 house vin blanc 1 vin rouge and a bandols with dessert 79 euros and another success. Final meal at Mon Vieil Ami and am I glad I did seated I was offered a small glass of house vin blanc to enjoy with crusty bread and butter laced with sea salt. So simple so good....starter of the infamous foie terrine . A major portion served with a slaw and pickled beets Really terrific Ordered the vegetarian plat ( repentent sinner from too much beef indulgence) and to my surprise a lofty puff pastry square arrived over flowing with perfectly cooked veggies ( carrots, asparagus, onions and some root vegetables that were unfamiliar to me but delectable) All in a tasty herb sauce..had cheese plate that was good but I was spoiled from Chiberta experience With 1 glass chablis and half bottle of excellent Santeney it came to about 70 euros .. absolutely no complaints and 3 wonderful dinners. I was very very well treated as solo diner and welcomed warmly in all three restaurants ...glad that I walked 6 hours each day to make up for caloric indulgence at night and gosh I love Paris
