Went to lunch today on the recommendation of a friend at Parallel Post (located in the Trumbull Marriott).
The space is sleek with some low loungey seating for drinks and small plates as well as more traditional banquette/table seating. The menu seems to change weekly and had a good selection of small plates (grown up grilled cheese w/pear compote, brie & truffle oil, clams BLT), as well as sandwiches, salads & entrees.
I tried the clams BLT (grilled romaine, smoked thick bacon, clams & a tasty tomato broth over toasted bread) & the roasted oysters with lemon butter. Both were delicious. Had the duck confit salad with Pomegranate seeds & peanut dressing - the duck was crisped and flavorful the peanut sauce dressing was light & blended very well with a thin layer of spicy hummus under the greens - excellent!
My friend had the roasted beets w/greens,warm goat cheese & basil viniagrette - delish.
The cardamom rice pudding was v.yum and served layered with pistachios and a pear & cherry jam in a mason jar-ish glass.
Excited to have somewhere to go in this neck of the woods - would like to try dinner there or even just small plates & cocktails. I thought pricing was moderate for the quality of ingredients - (lunch) salads $12 oysters $8.
