Panna II - does it get any cheaper than this? (for a group...)

I wasn't able to make this birthday dinner, but my girlfriend reports... she and 8 friends ate at Panna II (on 1st Ave bet 5th & 6th Sts- upstairs) last night, everyone ordered appetizers, entree and dessert - the total for 9 people was under $100 - including tax, worked out to $13 a person with a generous tip (it's BYOB so drinks were not included, they brought a couple bottles of wine, and there's no corkage fee of course :-) on the food - she said the aps were good, entrees & dessert were ok, not great, but fine (veg & shrimp dishes were the best).

for those who don't know at Panna II (and several other Indian places on 6th St) have a crazy "happy birthday" record they play and flashy show of Christmas and fire truck lights that they turn on, which can be very fun & festive way to end a birthday celebration, especially after a couple hours of drinking and eating (and you're in a mood for something like that) - if you're looking to do a very inexpensive group dinner, that let's ya BYOB and get a little rowdy - this place works pretty good.
