Panini Sandwhiches with Italian meats and cheeses?

Where are some good spots to get this type of cusine?

I was watching Ciao America w/ Mario Batali and he went to Campanile for their Thursday night thingy....don't feel like going out to that area or scene really, looking more for the "relaxed" and laid back spots where you can just hang out and have a good sandwhich.

Around me in Santa Monica, there is Buon Giorno on SM Blvd around 15th, which I didn't like anmd another one across the street from Nawab, which I haven't been to in a while (any new reviews on this place?)

Been to Panini Cafe on Main Street in SM. Not bad, but I didn't particularly enjoy eating in the backyard on a flimsy plastic table from K-mart.

Looking for more traditional "italian" fillings such as proscitto, etc.
