Panini - Corona Del Mar mini review

Diamond Dog | Jul 9, 2005 06:07 PM

I forgot to snap pictures of this place so i won't do an official review per say.

We went here because we heard good things about it and we miss the panini sandwiches we got in Rome. I also heard it was dog friendly and we had one of our Dogs with us. Not really dog friendly unless you get one of the 3 tables outside.

What a disappointment. Every panini is on grilled, buttered sourdough and the sandwhiches push 10 bucks each. Way too much bread and the combination of the fillings don't really wow your tastebuds. The cheese didnt even melt around all the ingredients.

I had the proscuito, artichoke hearts, and cheese and Mrs. Dog had Proscuito, buffalo motzerella, and tomato and basil.

Spent way too much for a way too average sandwich that bordered on being "bad"

Actually the Paninis at that Antenello's satellite stand in the middle of southcoast plaza are good and have authenitc, unique fillings if you guys want to try an authentic one in OC. Don't know were else to go in OC for one.

Maybe its unfair to compare paninis to what we had in Rome.

It was nice watching all the "beautiful people" in Corona Del Mar though.

2 sandwiches served with sides of bow tie pasta salad with 2 iced teas $28.00 with tip.
