Hey hounds! I've been lurking (and appreciating your opinions) for a good long while; with this, I lurk no longer!
Please forgive the tone of my first post, as it is an annoyed question: Am I the only one who thinks $15 for a plate of pancakes is a joke? And they're not even that great! I defy anyone to make themselves a batch of buttermilk pancakes using the basic Cook's Illustrated recipe, and then, after scarfing them down, tell me that they don't blow away C St.'s.
I'm not putting the restaurant down, as everything else I've had there has been pretty damn good, and the portions are nice. It's just that when I think about the hype surrounding these pancakes, and that they're the go-to item, I just have to shake my head in wonder.
Am I alone in this?
