oyster po'boy special at Redbones cheap eats delight...

Awhile ago I posted a query on chowboard on whether anybody had tried the new daily specials at Redbones. We finally tried last friday for take-out- their oyster po'boy dinner (thurs and fridays). For $9.99: atleast for take-away comes deconstructed with about 11 perfectly fried oysters- not greasy-w/ big tender scrumptious bellies- 2 New england-style hotdog buns- top-split- (the buns were not grilled and buttered, simply au natural which really worked to make a tender and integrated sandwich), chipotle mayonaise in a little container- with a very nice slight smoky burn to it, creamy cole slaw (I think that Redbones has changed their cole slaw formula recently- it seems creamier and less vinegary), and a good serving of french fries- their fries are soft and thin, with one side of the potato still in skin, they are buttery tasting- and again rather melds into the sandwich- I contemplated putting on the sandwich which would be swell I'm sure- instead I dipped them in the chipotle mayonaisse- heaven- I look forward to trying their burger special (sun and mondays) for $6.99 w/ lettuce, tomato, onion and pickles & french fries- .50 extra for cheese. There are lots of other interesting specials- and they've added some new regular items as well i.e. buffalo wings to go with their stupendious buffalo shrimp. (I can see starting to go to Redbones for their daily specials and buffalo shrimp app. and leaving serious BBQ to Blue Ribbon or ECG)...
