A piece in today's Brookline Tab says that Takeshima in Coolidge Corner is closing (no loss, it went drastically downhill since a change of ownership last year), to be replaced by a new seafood restaurant called Perpetual Oyster (Rolex puns, anyone?). The new owner will be Gwen Butler, former general manager of Eastern Standard.
In addition to oysters, the menu will include things like smoked salmon johnnycakes, pan-roasted scallops, and corn pudding.
No opening date is fixed yet, but it will be "as soon as possible."
Fingers crossed, this could be good!
