Of all places! Lynn, MA!!
We tried the Oxford Street Grill at 191 Oxford Street in gritty Lynn, MA. We got the idea from the Open Table web site. I am glad we did. The restaurant is well apointed, table cloths and cloth napkins, with very good service and food that rivals some of the best of Boston. We parked the car right in front of the restuarant (and saved $14.00). The food has a German flair with some Asian influence. Portions were ample and the final bill was about 2/3 of a similar meal in Boston. The Mushroom soup is a must have. Loaded with porcini mushrooms and a creamy, not floury, broth. I had the Short ribs which was excellent. A unique presentation with delicious mashed potatoes stuffed into a perfect popover. The Mrs. had vienerschnitzel (presented without the fried egg) She couldn't finish it as the portion was very generous.
I hope this is the start of the resurgence of a Massachusetts "mill town" like Lowell.
I stronlgy recommend you give this place a try. I don't think you will be disappointed.
