I am nearly exhausting my list of fine dining restaurants to try in Ottawa... one place that still remains is Le Baccarat at the casino in Hull. We are considering going on Saturday night, and I have read good things (but from less reputable sources). However, I have a few reservations.
First, it's in a casino in Hull, and also in a hotel. This does not necessarily make it a bad place, but does introduce the possibility that it is an all-flash, no substance place that "high rollers" and/or tourists go just because it's expensive, and not because it is actually good. Second, I have heard it described as "over-the-top", which is another red flag.
I've searched this all over this board and could find very little... can we expect fine food, nice ambience, and great service (albeit for a price), or will we more likely encounter tired, overly trendy food that lacks creativity, and a casino-like atmosphere?
Any help would be much appreciated :)
