Crowsonguy, his non-CH foodie friend, and I had a fabulous dim sum lunch at OM today.
I mean, it was great...and I had that 'high' off of food feeling while driving home....yes, I was 'under the influence!"
In any event, some brief descriptions of what we had, and what we thought:
Shui Mai: this was our barometer. very fine, very standard. nothing wrong with them, but nothing too exciting, either.
Beef Noodle Rice Crepe: this was non-CH foodie friend's barometer dish. It passed with flying colors.
BBQ Pork Rice Noodle Crepe: this didn't garner any discussion at all, and I would pass on it during a subsequent visit.
Steamed Fun Gor: A winner. Probably the biggest winner of the afternoon. Big, dumplinng-like things filled with boiled peantus. Amazing. And, we ended up with a second order.
Black Pepper Short Ribs: I thought these find, sort of sweet, and tender. The others could take 'em or leave 'em, altought crowsonguy did say that if everything else wasn't soooo good, he may have given them higher marks.
Fried Shrimp Meat Dumplings: Heavily friend dumplings...Great textures.
Green Leek Sprout with Shrimp Paste: Another favorite, in fact, a toss-up between this and the fun gor about which was best.
And, off the menu: Chinese broccoli with oyster sauce. just perfect.
And, delicious, fresh, hot seasame balls for dessert.
All and all, we left incredibly impressed....we understand that during the weekend, with cart service, there are more options. We all vowed to return then!
