What not to order at B&M Mei Sing

I have been reading all the nice comments about B&M Mei Sing these past few days. Today I had to work in the city and made a stop to have some lunch. I decided to order Curry Beef Stew over rice. It wasn't a dish that was mentioned in any previous posts - it's just something that I felt like eating. The place looks well run and there was a large crew in the kitchen - with a lot of spirited talk & laughter coming through. Although, I was predisposed to liking it - their version of Curry Beef Stew is one to avoid.
Very salty. Some of the stew meat was chewy and some of it was very stringy. (do not attempt this without floss handy) Very lean, which is a bad thing, in my mind.....no richness from fat or from tendon that has been simmering many hours until tender. I don't know if the cut of meat has evolved over the years to appeal to their lunch time crowd but this is not the kind of beef stew that you will generally find in Chinatown ( especially at my favorite: Kam Po ) There were a lot of tender potatoes in the mix - they absorbed a lot of flavor - a nice touch. This memory is one that I want to erase from my memory - will have to go out for beef stew again soon.
