Went to Olives the other night on the company's account. Just curious what the hounds think of this place.
It was my first time there and I must admit I was underwhelmed. The tuna tartare with fried rock shrimp
appetizer was the highlight of the evening. The whole thing came wrapped in thinly sliced cucumber and flavored with a sesame oil based dressing that had a slight kick to it. Unfortuantely the rest of the meal was not nearly as good. My skatewings stuffed with crab was over salted and you could barely taste the flavor of the crab. I couldn't even finish it. For dessert I have the falling down choclate cake, which was just ok, nothing to write home about.
Fortunately work picked up the tab. That plus the good company and good wines made the evening.
Going to Peach Farm this weekend for the mei-gee(?) eel, now that I finally know how to say it semi-correctly. Can't wait!
