How many threads have there been on this board with respect to the state of barbecue in New York City? I'll tell you how many TOO many. Yes, I could go back and count but you know what, I don't have that kind of time 'cause I've got stuff to plan
for example: The first annual BBQ NYC Event! That's right folks, cue king THM and I have sweet talked the pants off the parks department and their actually gonna let us hold a cue fest to end all cue fests, but first we need some sort of an idea of the size and scope of this thing. I'm humbly asking you here to email me at email@example.com to let me know:
1 Are you interested? Really really excited? Can't wait? This is the best idea you've ever heard?
2 Do you think this event should be a) a judged competition or b) a social picnic type thing
3 We're thinking of doing this in late August or September what's good for you?
This event has the potential of being huge. The NYC Parks Department is thinking of Randalls Island for us. We can have live music, games, raffle stuff, and because cue just isn't the same without suds, and even the NYC Parks Department agrees here, a microbrew tasting. But of course most importantly, some 500 gallon smokers and real cue like you aint never had in any of the five boroughs guaranteed! That's right, THM and I will personally be firing up those smokers at 3AM to slow smoke pig. Oh yeah.
So give me your feedback, express your interest, are we going to be a party of 30 or 300, I've gotta know. Help us to help you see the light that is true cue.
