OK, except for possibly the world's longest walk when changing planes, I haven't spent any time in Phoenix since I drove through on my way from LA to New Orleans in 1970 . . .
That said, my wife and I will be staying at the Hyatt Regency Scottsdale at Gainey Ranch -- quite possibly the longest name for a hotel -- for three nights in January while attending a law conference.
By way of further explanation, we live in the San Francisco Bay area, and travel to New Orleans and New York relatively often for great meals/cuisines we cannot get at home. So, we are turning to the Phoenix-based Chowhounders for help -- any suggestions for "real" Southwest dining, great food we can't get at home?
Thanks in advance for your help and ideas!
P.S. We'll have a car, so . . .
