Two night report

I was in town Tuesday the 29th and Wednesday the 30th for work. I stayed at the JW Marriott on Canal so I was in walking distance to a few open places. Tuesday night was K Pauls, Chef Prudhomme was out front with a band greeting everyone that came in. It was packed but I secured a seat at the bar and enjoyed bbq/fried shrimp and oysters for an appetizer and then pan sauteed snapper for an entree, both were very good. wednesday night was a real treat. I arrived at Cuvee at six and again secured my spot at their very small bar (two seater). I wanted to get a real feel for the food so I chose the taste of Cuvee menu. Two appetizers, Shrimp and crispy fried mirlaton napolean, Sweet and Spicy frog legs, followed by their signature chop salad. Then three entrees, sauteed salmon on orzo, Duck two ways(confit and grilled) with risotto, deconstructed osso bucco with gnochi. Apple crepe for desert. Frog legs were the only less than stellar presentation, everything else was fantastic. The city is still in bad shape, I often felt like I was in a third world country enjoying the few luxury places. I really hope the place is able to recover. It looks like a long road.
