Technically two nights, but we are doing Mexican one night and have the second night (Saturday) open for dinner. Suggestions? I lived in Houston eight years ago and had many, many favorites back then (but admittedly was less of a food snob then, too). I don't know how any of those stack up now, though (or if they even exist anymore).
Here's what we (hubs and me) do and don't want:
No Mexican (already covered Friday)
Open to seafood or steak
No real price limit but we don't want to go somewhere stuffy-expensive
Good scene but not so loud that we have to scream to hear one another
No "scene-y" places (that require reservations a year in advance or at any point involves a velvet rope)
In an area where we could conceivably grab a drink nearby after
We're staying at ZaZa if that helps, but we will have a car.
