Nice romantic dinner in Richmond and environs?

We don't get out a lot with a 17 month old son, but it is our anniversary in a couple of weeks and I would like to go somewhere nice. Our son Jake will be with my folks for the evening.

Somewhere with great food and at least pleasant service.... my wife would add she wants to keep the price down. She already shot down us staying overnight at the Jefferson, or my original suggestion of the Inn at Little Washington.

It doesn't have to be too dressy, might be a plus if it isn't too stiff or formal, somewhere comfortable, with a hint of intimacy.

Geee, I am not asking too much am I? :)

Don't want to do Ruth Chris or Hondo's, been there a number of times, and want to try somewhere different. Plus Ruth's Chris was a real disappointment last time - overcooked, tough steak, excrutiaingly long wait for food ( more than 30 minutes after we were done with salads, and it wasn't especially busy.)

We have done Melting Pot several times too, looking for somwhere else.

Anyone tried Flemings - what is that like?

How about La Petit France?

Any other ideas?
