I'm awfully sorry to hear Ruth Reichl gushed about Casa
Adela in the Times last week. Is this her swansong
before she goes on to greener pastures? Although I
didn't actually read the review yet, I'm sure before
long they'll have it under the glass on the tables.
On the other hand, the review could be a shot in the
arm for Adela's, which sees mostly locals; in the
worst-case scenario, though, I see longer hours, new
decor, snotty waitresses, and a full wine and beer list
- not to mention higher prices. I'll be awfully sorry
if they take down that "Especial de hoy: Pulpo" sign.
