Mulberry Street Pizza

We were on our way to Healdsburg and terribly disappointed that we couldn't find parking at any of our favorite spots in the City. So we just headed north and kept an eye out. She-Who-Must-Be-Obeyed thought she spotted a likeley spot (no fast food, chains, etc.) on a side road. I got off the next exit but we were far from where she had spotted the possibility.

But we did run into the Mulberry Street Pizzeria. An exceptional turn of events as it turned out. We ordered their Food Network award winning mushroom pizza and a clam and garlic pizza, small caesar, couple of glasses of chianti (under $48).

Well lighted open room with lots of families, dates, people having fun. The mushroom pizza was definitely rich and filling. Lots of mushrooms in a creamy sauce ladled on the pizza crust thickly, topped with cheese and baked nicely. SWMBO loved it and I liked it a lot (I am more of the simple and less filling type). While the mushroom pie was good, the garlic and clam pie less so. It wasn't that it was bad, it just wasn't a eyeopener like the mushroom pie was. Not enough garlic, and the clams were minced.

Salad was ok as were the wines.

I want to come back and try some other things. I did not try the pasta as SWMBO will not let me instruct the cooks on the proper preparation of noodles, but the kids next to us were having a good time with it.

Kudos to this place, and obviously our karma was working overtime to land us here.
