MSP- FireLake

FireLake just started a new menu with red trout on it, a first for me. I had lunch there
today and really enjoyed their succotash, a new veg. side on the menu- nothing like the
corn and limas in goopy sauce of my childhood- just a nice hash of fresh corn, bacon,
peppers, onions and who knows what else, served in a little cast iron pan. Also really
liked a new dessert- and ice-cream cake connoisseurs, take note- this is a blueberry/pistachio ice cream cake, totally from scratch , no fake colors. Beautiful
layers of lavender(blueberry ice cream) and light green (pistachio ice cream) with yellow
cake, and a raspberry layer as well, and of course a layer of whipped cream because
it wanted to be there. Served on raspberry coulis. This is not your chocolate cake/vanilla
ice cream cake of childhood, although I loved that back in the day. I didn't have the trout,
but will report back when I do.
