Mothers Day Recipes ???

kchurchill5 | May 9, 2009 10:46 AM

Well, my mom at only 71 passed away if 4 weeks ago. Well Grandma also passed on Mothers Day so not the best holiday but we always tried to have a nice day.

I enjoyed making something new and interesting for breakfast.

For tomorrow I am making a brunch breakfast for a friend and his wife. A breakfast piazza with scrambled eggs, spinach, pizza crust, cheese, fresh tomatoes, fresh fruit and yes a side of crispy sausage.

Champage and chambord with fresh orange springs and blood oranges.

WHAT IS YOUR MOTHERS DAY MENU ... PERSONALLY I HATE GOING OUT. OVER STRESSED AND EXPENSIVE AND JUST MAKE SOMETHING YOURSELF. FROM A GIRLS STAND POINT ... YOU GET SOOOO MANY MORE POINT THAN GOING OUT, EVEN IF IT IS JUST A SIMPLE BREAKFAST.

But they just be me, I enjoy the simple things in life. A fancy restaurant doesn't impress me at all, the work the guy went through to make a good meal and to make it important to me should and does mean so much more, that is the best present anyone could give me. Take me out to brunch ... well if away for the weekend on a trip, yes. At home ... don't bother. Do it on a NON holiday weekend as a total surprise, some nice flowers (simple) don't go overboard) a nice bottle of champagne with some oj and then lets go out for a nice brunch a nice surprise totally unexpected and thoughtful. Now that is romantic.

I know I may be in the minority, but any thoughts. That is what I would want, I wouldn't care if it was a hard egg and toast, it is the thought that counts not how much $$ you spent.

What are you doing for tomorrow am?
