Had my first meal at Mosca's in more than ten years, and it was actually better than remembered. The chicken, oysters, crab salad, crabs in an addictive balsamic vinegar marinade, meatballs, and the ridiculously simple and delicious spaghetti bordelaise were wonderful. The steak, shrimp (which my friends, regulars, said was a little off tonight) were a notch lower, and I didn't care for the spaghetti marinara at all.
But sheesh, this place is dpendable in the best sense of the word. The menu hasn't changed; the look of the place is the same; and the food immediately evoked memories of my meal from the 1990s.
It's great to be back in New Orleans, especially when both oysters and crawfish are in their prime.
