Lunch today at Morimoto. As many of you know, I am a devotee of Fuji's in Haddonfield. Loath to try Morimoto, feeling it would be a disappointment, compared to Fuji. Glad we went today. While definitely pricey--ie, $5 for a pot of tea! , the $50 sushi platter we shared was pristine, satisfying and ample. Service lovely. No big surprises in the fish choices--they may have thought we were sushi virgins.
Biggest surprise: very quiet at lunch. When you want to be able to talk, that's a huge plus.
At the end, a rough edge. Asked where the rest rooms were; told they were down a flight of stairs. I said I'd wait; it was obvious I had a physical handicap, but they didn't offer a restroom on the first floor, until my friend pointed out it was illegal not to have one. Then they told me about it! Argh.
Anyway, I did enjoy our lunch, but the drama of not having to order at Fuji, and always being well taken care of with a more balanced lunch experience: soup, salad, mini-courses plus sushi is a more etheral experience for us. And, no, one does not have to be a regular.
